Welcome to Hands For Hope, Inc.
Nicaragua is the second poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere. The average level of education for the 5 million inhabitants is 5th grade. Even those with that level of education lack good reading skills due to the lack of resources available in rural communities to read. While internet cafes are in the larger metropolitan areas, these are rare in rural communities and no training is available on how to most effectively use the vast array of information available.
Hands for Hope, Inc. came about from the desire to make education possible for deserving individuals that want to improve their personal life, their families condition, and the overall communities they reside in. Since 2001, the organization's founder has been providing items to assist in carrying out the mission. In 2014, after years of carrying out personal projects supported by her home community and church, Hands for Hope, Inc. became a formal entity. Fourteen student teams have also traveled to Nicaragua to assist in project completion. Eight students have also gone to carryout educational internships in the different communities.
Consider joining this effort and supporting the meager but meaningful efforts going on.
